About the Discernment and Testing area
Slowing down and weighing an impression against Scripture, facts, counsel, and time. The 45 Waypoints are nine areas of formation with five practices in each. They are not scores, levels, classes, or years, and no one is ranked by how many they have walked.
This area is practiced primarily inside the Discern movement of the Six Movements: Attend, Receive, Discern, Respond, Release, Steward, and then fruit over time.
11. Three Other Meanings
Naming alternate readings before settling on one.
Journaling prompts: What are three other reasonable meanings of this? Which meaning do I want to be true, and why?
AI stewardship safeguard: AI may list possibilities the person wrote. It may never rank meanings or recommend one.
Can AI discern a prophetic word? No. AI preserves the record and people discern the word. AI may organize, transcribe, and format, but weighing a word belongs to prayerful human judgment.
12. Scripture Test
Weighing the impression against the whole of Scripture.
Journaling prompts: Does this agree with the character of God revealed in Scripture? Am I using a verse as a proof text or reading it in context?
AI stewardship safeguard: AI may show references already supplied, in full context. It may not declare a word scriptural.
How is a prophetic word tested against Scripture? A word is weighed against the whole of Scripture and the revealed character of God, read in context, rather than matched to isolated verses that fit the desired conclusion.
13. Known Facts
Checking what is already verifiably true.
Journaling prompts: What do I already know factually about this person or situation? What am I guessing that could be checked?
AI stewardship safeguard: AI may not research a named person. Identity lookups are prohibited.
Should I research someone I received an impression about? No. Investigating a person turns discernment into surveillance. Use only what is already known or freely offered, and ask rather than research.
14. Counsel
Bringing the impression to trusted, qualified people.
Journaling prompts: Who can help me think wisely about this, and have I asked them? What would I need to remove before sharing this for counsel?
AI stewardship safeguard: Counsel copies are redacted by default: names, health details, locations, and household details are flagged before export.
Who should review a prophetic word before it is shared? Trusted, mature, qualified people who can disagree freely, working from a redacted version that protects anyone named in the record.
15. Time
Letting time do work that urgency cannot.
Journaling prompts: What happens if I wait a week, a month, a year? Where is the urgency coming from?
AI stewardship safeguard: AI may schedule a review reminder. It may not mark a word as ready.
How long should I wait before acting on a prophetic word? Long enough for urgency to lose its grip. Higher possible impact means slower timing, wider counsel, and written permission.
How to walk this area
Take one waypoint at a time. Write the prompts out longhand or in a private journal entry, answer them in your own words, and lock the entry before doing anything else with it.
AI preserves the record. People discern the word. Every safeguard in this area exists to keep that sentence true in practice, not only in principle.
