The Signed Bookplate and Certificate of Readership

Convergence is a digital web platform rather than a printed volume. This one page product is what an author can still sign, and what a reader can still hold.

A digital book has no title page to inscribe, so the inscription becomes its own one page product. Each reader receives a personalized bookplate they print at home, at a library, or at a Shared Mountain Session.

Two signing paths exist. At a gathering, the reader prints the page in advance and Dr. Brown signs it by hand at the signing table. Remotely, the page is printed with a scanned signature, a unique reference number, and the date of issue.

The bookplate is therefore the physical artifact of a digital work. It is what gets held, framed, tucked inside another book, or carried home from a session.
